Week 5:  Time Drawdown tests- fully confined aquifer

Objectives:

We will use pumping tests from the deeper (semi-confined) aquifer to estimate K.  We will assume that all conditions for the Theis solution are met (fully confined aquifer).

Reading:

Theis type curve solution:

Notes and instructions for type curve fit, Theis method:

Distances:

Distances between wells were measured with a steel tape:

Extraction well to MW1A = 133.0 ft

Extraction well to MW2A = 138.9 ft

Extraction well to MW3A = 30.05 ft

Assignment

Estimate the transmissivity (T), hydraulic conductivity (K), and storativity (S) in the deeper water bearing interval.  Assume that the interval is fully confined.  Include a methods section with appropriate references, results and discussion.  Use thesis format.
